The people who build the product have been building and operating photovoltaic plants for 20 years.

The company

Greekpower I.K.E. is a Greek company, located in Crete. It designs, builds and supports GPweb: a complete platform including on-site controllers and server-side management software, and the drivers that connect them. That is the whole business.

The code, the drivers and the platform are written here in Crete.

Where the product came from

Our people have built and operated photovoltaic plants for a long time, mostly on Crete: dealing with the grid operator, the paperwork, the commissioning crews and the early-morning callouts. GPweb was written for those plants first, and it still runs on them.

That shapes the product more than anything else about us. What is in it came out of problems someone had on a real plant, on a working day, with the grid operator on the phone.

Greek, for Greece

Greece is a footnote in most international product manuals. Here it is the only grid we build for.

We work in Greek and in English, and we read the DEDDIE requirements in the original — and we have been through commissioning on our own plants, with the same forms.

What we do not do

We focus on doing only a few things — but we work hard to do them right.

We do not write a driver from a datasheet and call your equipment supported. We test against a real unit first.
We do not build bespoke per-project SCADA. GPweb is a product, with versions, release notes and an upgrade path.
We do not put our badge on somebody else's platform.
We do not go after our partners' customers.
We do not describe capabilities that are not in the code.

Will you still be here in five years?

It is the right question to ask a small vendor, and the honest answer is not a wall of logos.

Our own plants depend on this software, so it does not get quietly abandoned.

We would rather you bought on that than on a promise.

What is the relationship between Greekpower and Photovoltaika Kritis A.E.?

Greekpower has evolved from Photovoltaika Kritis (PVK), the Crete business that has built and operated photovoltaic plants for close to two decades. Greekpower I.K.E. is the company that turns that operating experience into a product and sells it.

You are a small company. What happens to the plants if you disappear?

The controller is not a subscription that stops working. It runs on the plant, holds its own configuration, and keeps controlling the plant with no connection to us and no connection to our platform.

In addition, we operate many plants in Crete ourselves — which is another reason we will be around.

Everything it speaks is documented and standard — on the grid-operator side, on the field-equipment side, and on the link to the platform. The platform itself can run on your own premises. There is no format in the system that only we can read, so nothing you install with us becomes unreadable if the relationship ever ends.

Do you compete with us for the end customer?

No. The controller is sold and managed through partners — substation manufacturers and EPCs put it inside their own delivery, under their own commercial relationship.

We do run an operations and maintenance service, and it is deliberately limited to our existing customers (mostly in Crete). If you are building or operating plants anywhere else in Greece, we are a supplier to you and nothing else.

Who am I actually contracting with, and where does the warranty sit?

With Greekpower I.K.E. — Greek invoicing, Greek jurisdiction, and a phone number in the same time zone as your site.

What kind of warranties do you provide?

All our products have a 2-year full warranty. In addition we give a 5-year operational warranty for our servers.
